The Kraken is an Everyday Tray featuring the phenomenal pyrography work of Jennifer DiArenzo. Jen conceptualized and burned this phenomenal fantasy scene, the Kraken clutching its treasure, entirely by hand in pyrography; The process of using a hot pen to slowly and carefully burn the design on wood to the desired darkness. Her imagination and attention to details, considering the light source as it plays on the Kraken’s arms and suckers, is nothing short of spectacular. The coin was designed by myself, inspired by an actual spanish escudo, containing elements from both of our logos and then covered in 23K authentic gold leaf. Finished in food safe shellac and/or wax. Approximate dimensions 14”L x 8”W x 1”H.
