Annie's Flowers
Annie's Flowers
This charcuterie board was an ABSOLUTE joy to build for my good friend Annie, given she is flower gardener and photographer extraordinare!! Through many conversations, we arrived at this design using a gorgeous piece of Birdseye Maple for the background with an "English garden" look for the overlapping flowers (made of reclaimed hot tub redwood (larger flowers) from my boys @ventanasurfboards and Bloodwood (smaller flowers) with both brushed or hammered brass centers). We paired that with some hammered brass leaves and inlaid scrolls, and put it on a huge piece of solid cherry for the back with some chamfered edges. It was so fun designing the flower arrangement on this, esp. because I've been dying to use those redwood flowers. You really want to laugh?? I found the Birdseye Maple at Lowe's! 😆 a few years ago, I happen to be there for some reason and spotted this beauty out of the corner of my eye. I guess people kept avoiding it because it "looked weird". Unreal. What a fun project!
